Luxury rap the Hermes of verses, Sophisticated ignorance write my curses in cursive

I won't lie I'm definitely a winter baby but the sun outside is screaming summer, and this was my anthem for last years summer so I'm reacquainting myself with it. I personally think that Kanye spun Jay on this, especially his second verse - the title lyrics are from this verse. So anyway, I just peeped the new Hermes AW13 and I want it all....it's seriously beautiful, the epitome of the sophisticated elegance of French fashion. My favourites have to be:

These silhouettes are so feminine, high waisted trousers and pencil skirts, but I love how the addition of a masculine car/aviator jacket adds an extra dimension. As for all the textures...yum. Leather, fur, silk....it all looks so luxurious but understated thanks to a clean colour palette of rich navys, cognacs and brick reds...I know I said I love black but jewel tones like this make me swoon, especially when they're paired together. My favourite look has to be the navy bomber jacket with the balloon sleeves paired with the croc leather cognac wrap pencil skirt...sexy striking sport luxe...just beautiful. I want it so bad, why am I so broke? To make myself feel better, I searched for similar items in my price range (not that I should really be buying anything but f*ck it...I'm young) and came up with a similar look that is along the same lines of a mixed texture oufit with a rich colour scheme:

Admittedly the silhouette of this ASOS skirt is different from the Hermes one I'm lusting after, but this one is super flattering too and for those who tend towards more feminine pieces, this piece is perfect...and it's on sale too!   The price has gone down from £90 to £45 which is a steal, and the tan colour is so lovely. Here's the link if any of y'all like it as much as I do: http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Premium-Skirt-in-Pleated-Leather/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2299830&cid=16167&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Tan

I am slyly in love with this Topshop sweat you know, partially because the relaxed fit of a sweat contrasts beautifully with the subtle sheen of the silky material which adds glamour to the otherwise casual piece. I think the silkiness would go perfectly with the leather of the skirt, and the navy/tan combo would be beautiful for Autumn. So it's a little on the pricey side with a price tag of £120 but hello student discount...it saves my life all the time. I'm pretty sure this will go into the sale anyway, but I couldn't wait, I'm weak for sport luxe it's such a fashionable way to be comfortable during the day and pretend like your outfit was meticulously planned. The link for the sweat: http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=10636317&langId=-1&categoryId=&searchTerm=sweatshirt&pageSize=200.

Please believe that Hermes will act as the inspiration for my whole Autumn wardrobe. Check out the whole collection if you can, it's honestly so beaut!

Your body is my party, I'm doing this little dance for you

So recently I've fallen in love with Ciara slightly just because of her Body Party video:

SHE IS SO FINE in this video, her new look, her dancing, attitude...everything! And for obvious reasons, I love her all black outfit with the Ballin Paris tee....she looks so hot but so casj I love it. Wish I could just rock up to a night out looking like that...

Since I've got so much time now I've finished university for the year and I'm basically larding about, I went on a little mission and found out where Ciara got her tee from...turns out its from ALEX AND CHLOE and it only costs $44. This has made my day, so I thought I'd share the link: http://www.alexandchloe.com/online_shop/product_info.php?cPath=37&products_id=2240&osCsid=260af112c5edcaceac2561bd1a2e988d

Oh and it seems loads of celebs are rocking ALEX AND CHLOE sh*t:

So it's pretty much cold in London 70% of the time, either that or it's pissing down with rain so I'm leaning towards the crew neck sweatshirts on the site, especially the black on black one it looks dope as hell:
I was not lying when I said I love all black outfits, and I think that this sweat is so cute and would go with so much! F*ck it I copped it even though I'm broke, a girl can never have too much black and it was only $69! For those of you who are sweatshirt lovers you'll know that's not even a bad price....

Title song is Body Party - Ciara. Sexy sexy sexy song and video

Fall in that YSL, Try it on you fly as hell

You know those days when nothing of note really happens, but you still make some life changing decisions? Yeah I'm having one of those days today. I visited the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture exhibition and realised that I don't want to pursue architecture as a career. This is some scary sh*t for me...for the first time in a long time I don't know where I'm going in life and it scares the hell out of me...but f*ck it, all I know is that I don't want to be an architect. Now I just have to figure out what I DO want to be...

So visiting this exhibition today was fate, because one of the first projects I came across was a proposal for the redevelopment of the Saint Laurent store in Paris. The scheme itself was sh*t to be perfectly honest, but it didn't even matter anymore because mental images of the newest Saint Laurent campaign flashed through my mind:

I am a sucker for all black outfits, I love love love them. Growing up I thought they were boring until I matured and learned the error of my ways and recognised the beauty of an all black outfit. But when I saw how Hedi Slimane completely f*cked with YSL, I was momentarily shocked and even a bit outraged. Then I realised he did the brand a favour, in my modest opinion. Even the new logo is minimalist and so much more updated. I know most fashion brands cash in on their rich heritage and this name change was criticised from moving away from the tradition of the brand, I think it was genius. The new collections have been dope has hell, proven by the fact that all the celebs (inc. Rosie Huntington Whitely) have been wearing them:

I know a lot of people underestimate the power of black on black but TRUST me its the SH*T. Especially when you accessorise properly - gold jewellery is my go to, as well as jade/green statement pieces that contrast beautifully e.g. Angelina Jolie, the definition of a goddess. N'awww whenever I don't know what to wear, I stick to black...I know my lane and I stay in it.

Oh and just to end on an even more beautiful note, Gwen Stefani's cover of Vogue in Saint Laurent Paris. I think she rocks the new collection the best, effortlessly elegant with casual edginess:

Goddamn she is so stunning in these shots, I love the way Hedi Slimane has managed to fuse 70s glamour with mannish tailoring and a punk aesthetic with the leather biker jackets, makes for such a chic look. I'm currently too broke to even buy anything remotely similar, so I'm going to make the most of my wardrobe right now and attempt to channel the Saint Laurent look with black cropped cigarette pants, pussybow blouses and large floppy hats. All black errthang of course, courtesy of my man Kanye. Love you Yeezy, Yeezus is giving me life right now, the album is on repeat constantly.

Lyrics in title come from Hello - The Game ft. Lloyd. Such a banger that people sleep on.

The only time you wear Burberry to swim, And I don't have to worry only worry is him

Growing up, this was how I used to see people rock Burberry:

The chavs of the world basically whored out the brand and made it synonymous with images like the one above, so this was all I pretty much knew about Burberry. But thanks to Christopher Bailey and Rosie Huntington Whitely, I've literally fallen in love with the brand. Bailey is a f*cking genius to be honest, he's completely switched up Burberry's image and Rosie.....ah Rosie..as a former Victoria's Secret model she's obviously beyond beautiful, but her Burberry campaign for Burberry Body gave me LIFE:

She is so sexy it's a joke, and she was the one who made me lean towards Burberry again with her dress at the 2010 Met Ball:

Oh and 2012 Met Ball:

She's literally a goddess, so so beautiful. So anyway, normally I hate setting foot in designer stores because I know from the outset the only thing I'll be able to afford is like...a keyring and I always feel like the staff already know this and so look at me awkwardly - paranoia - but I visited the Burberry flagship store on Regent St recently and f*ck me I was amazed.

This store is the sh*t. Probably one of the most technologically advanced stores out there, it has a 22ft screen which projects the Burberry shows every year and allows for music performances to take place (yes the store doubles up as an intimate concert venue) as well as microchips in the clothing which, when you look at yourself in the mirror it transforms into a film of how the garment was made and what it looked like on the catwalk. Obviously Burberry's gone digital crazy lately thanks to Bailey but it's worked for them, this store is the perfect contradiction of the traditional Burberry brand and modern technology, perfectly represented in the way that Bailey has chosen to locate his technologically advanced store within a building designed in 1820 for the Prince Regent. Oh, and did I mention you design your own trench coat while you're here too..yeah they went all out. AND as if that wasn't enough Bailey designed a 12 piece (I think?) collection exclusively for the Regent Street store. My absolute favourite was this gold feathered trench, made from 5000 feathers:

I don't care if I'd look like a fool on the street for wearing this I'd rock this. Cara is the model of the moment so naturally she fronted the campaign, but the coat is unbelievably beautiful. Definitely a work of art, not just any old coat you put on that looks "nice". Ahh I want it in my life. In fact, I see something McQueen-ish in this trench actually, maybe its the incredible extravagance and luxury....either way, masterpiece. Bailey, I bow down to you.

P.S. Title lyrics come from Bonnie & Clyde - Jay Z ft. Beyonce. I love them. Plus it samples Tupac (albeit badly) but still...

Soon as I got salad I spent it all on dressin', French to be exact, that Balmain was impressive

So I'm pretty much in love with Olivier Rousteing. Rihanna, the lucky bish, recently modelled his latest collection and she looked BANGING, especially in the yellow ensemble:

I've been following the brand for a few years now but under Rousteing the aesthetic has been radically altered and I am crazyy about this raffia style weaving/cutouts they've had for a couple seasons now. Everyone knows about Balmain blazers, the fit is perfection..but nah they f*cked up the fashion game in terms of textiles when it comes to this kind of detail:

Leave it to Zara to shamelessly borrow, and basically steal from Balmain - they do the same with Givenchy too. Hell, I'm not complaining, it makes me feel better when I can find something half decent that even vaguely resembles something I've been lusting after. Cue these two sweatshirts:

So, as usual, I was weak when it came to resisting temptation and bought both, and honestly I don't even regret it. My brother, who NEVER compliments me, like ever, even went so far as to choke out a "you look good" when I was rocking the black sweat, it's the perfect mix of a casual relaxed fit and intricate embroidery. I'm actually in love with both of these items, simply because of the level of detail, besides I'm a sucker for baroque prints. Lord, I pray that one day I'm actually able to buy the real thing, but until then Zara will have to do....

P.S. Lyrics in the title come from Looking for Trouble - Kanye West

Versace, Versace, Medusa head on me like I'm 'Luminati

So all garish prints, animal prints and Donatella's scary appearance aside - I love Versace. That iconic Medusa emblem makes for a powerful statement, and anyone rocking it knows they're the sh*t and they clearly want you to know it too. No other brand is so closely tied to Hip Hop, thanks to my baby Tupac:

Gianni Versace thought he was the most beautiful man on earth, and lord I cannot blame him, Pac's eyes will forever make me melt. Point being, he paved the way for Versace for the Kanye's and Chris Brown's of today.
Tyga's newest Medusa piece

If and when I ever make it big doing god knows what, one of my first purchases will be a versace print shirt. That sh*t is iconic, just on the right side of flashy and I don't give a fu*k, in my humble opinion. Case in point:
Obviously Cassie is one of the most beautiful women on this planet, she would kill anything she was wearing but goddamn! She is fire in this shirt, I need to get me one. Oh and another recent reason why I love Versace? The Haas Brothers furniture collection:

Everything about this collection literally screams luxury and grandeur and to be honest, I'd be too scared to even sit on any of the pieces if they ever happened to be in my living room but still...I think they're amazing. Not to everyone's taste I know, but the way the Haas Brother's have translated the aesthetic of the brand into another design discipline is crazy! I should probably mention that I love gold and so am slightly biased...

P.S. Lyrics in the Title come from Versace - Migos ft. Drake. Been stuck in my head for a couple of days now...stupidly catchy song.

Awkward Introduction

So I'm new to the whole blogging thing and I'm not really sure what to do/say so please excuse the awkwardness of this first post. Guess the whole point of this is to introduce myself so here goes...
My name is Saar-Rah, strange spelling I know but I blame my mother, it's Arabic supposedly. As well as turning 20 this year, I've just finished my second year studying Architecture.
Architecture, Art, Fashion, Music...I have a healthy obsession for it all and I'm guessing future posts will be dedicated to clothing I'll never be able to afford, the clothing that ensures I'm constantly broke, and a good measure of completely unrelated hip hop lyrics simply because I'm always memorising them.
If I haven't bored you by now, welcome to my creative outlet for all the absurd thoughts that cross my mind. :)

Oh and here's a photo to put a name to face, excuse the awkward smile - you'll soon see why I rarely smile with my teeth. Ergh.
